Lars Mikkelsen-3-1024x657Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He was a character in the drama series The Killing. Copenhagen mayoral election candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing.1 Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third season of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix as well as Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. He was given the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011. When he was 27 He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from there in 1995. He was also a part of The Killing's drama. In the following years, he was a part of Borgen III and Those Who Kill two internationally recognized Danish dramas. He played the role of President of Russia in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his performance in the Danish drama Herrens Veje. It was aired in the UK in the year 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
