Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin has made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, making the youngest recipient to win an award within Oscar history. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24 the 24th of July, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster in the category of Best Supporting actress for her role as the curious and sociable daughter of Holly Hunter's leading character as Holly Hunter in The Piano. In response to an open request for auditions to play the character, she was chosen as Flora McGrath, the daughter of an mute Scottish piano player who moves in New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. At the time, she was nine and had no prior experience in acting. When she was a teen she emigrated into the United States. Paquin was in a brief role in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was in the midst of her childhood in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and an important role in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin had a small role in the television movie of 1997 adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad which she was in, she played the queen of Spain in a minor part. Also, she played teenagers as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she was the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
