Harry Edward Styles, known in the world of music by the name of Harry Styles, is a British musician and singer who is regarded as one of the members of the band One Direction. Harry Styles was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on the 1st of February 1994. He is the son of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles studied at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, which is where he formed his own band, composed of 3 schoolmates, which was named the White Eskimo. In 2009 they participated in the Battle of Bands where thanks to their excellent presentations they took home the trophy. While he's always fascinated by music, he was also hoping to be an lawyer or physiotherapist. To support his family, he took an hour or so working at a baker's shop. Harry Styles, in 2010 made an audition for The X Factor. His single Is not She Lovely was and was performed by Stevie Wonder. The group was then forced to disband due to this. After the audition in The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles would be a part of a future band that would be dubbed One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored the young group in 2010. The group performed hits such as My Life Would Suffer Without You from Kelly Clarkson, and Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Bonnie Tyler during the competition. They were one of the candidates to win the award. Despite this, they finished third, just behind Rebecca Ferguson. Harry Styles did not receive an award, but Cowell made a deal worth 2 million pounds to One Direction in order for them to join Syco Records.
