Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is one of football scholarships, family involvement and community involvement. First family he is the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. They grew up on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. He played football with three of his brothers in Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award as the top lineman in America. For the three seasons that Roy was a starter, Oklahoma won two National Championships. In 1975, he was awarded his third scholarship, and was named the National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon graduated with a diploma from the University of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week during his time at college. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. Additionally, he started an entrepreneurial career. The first job he had was an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of the most notable young men. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6-2. In his time at college, he commanded the team of 1975. In 1993, he became the associate director of the University of South Florida. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave an award of the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
